People's comments regarding weight loss!!!

I find this so annoying!

Some of the classics -
"you don't need to lose weight"
"You're tall so you can carry it"
"You'll look anorexic if you lose anymore weight"

Then this from my mum this morning - "how much do you weigh now? - 10st 4lbs??? Wow I would never imagine you to weigh that much, you look about 9st!" Since when was 10st 4lbs a lot?? I'm 5ft 10in!! In one breath people are banging on about me not losing weight and then I get told my weight is actually really heavy!

I'm so frustrated. I'm sick of thinking about food, calories, the scales, how much exercise I've done, how flabby I am, how people think I have "issues" - my fitness pal, fucking Fitbit - it's all I think about and I'm so tired of it but I can't seem to stop. Then other people have episodes of verbal diarrhoea and make me feel 10 times worse.

Why do people say such stupid things to people who are obviously obsessed enough as it is? Sorry rant over

Am totally with you on this one! How much weight have you lost? Xx

I'd start commenting on their appearance. Tell them you're happy as you are and don't entertain any nasty comments. No one has the right 😡

I honestly think it's a case of jealousy. It would never cross my mind to make a comment like that to someone when they've lost weight, and when I have observed people saying these things it's often the people who struggle to lose weight themselves.
Well done on making some healthy changes though and keep it up! Your body, your health, your choice :)

OverTheHammer I hate when people think they have the right to comment on every lost or gained pound. Why can't people mind their own business?

Also could be insensitive to ask someone about weight loss because sometimes weight loss can be caused by serious illness. I try not to comment on weight loss unless I know for a fact that the person who has lost the weight has been trying to.

People are really weird about weight and weight loss in particular. Really weird. When they say something like that, try and remember it's actually about themselves, not you.
