It's shit, you still have to trawl for miles to see where you are up to.

thanks to a darling poster who's name escapes me I've just read:

Swipe left on the last post you read, then when you return to that same thread - it takes you back to exactly that point

I'm on an android. If you go right to the bottom of your page just click for mobile site. You can watch thread easily. Also just bookmark the last bit you read. Three wee dots on right hand side of the post. Press that and lots of options open up

Just swipe left and exit the app?
Don't click on anything?

The "blatant placemarking" and "." posts on any vaguely entertaining thread are starting to get on my tits. 1000 posts and only about 20 of them at most are by the person with all the interesting info.

Seriously, learn how to bookmark.

That's because you're using the mobile site, not the app.

Bookmark. You have to switch it on in settings but it works on mobile and pc. Much better than the aggravating placemarking.

I don't know why it's opt in rather than default, tbh.

I discovered it yesterday.
I used the app years ago and it was utterly shit, so since then I have just used the mobile version.
This new app (probably not that new???!!) is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.
Am watching threads, bookmarking all over the place, and have selected favourite boards as well

I don't think you can get it on android can you? Even so, the mobile site lets you bookmark

The reason people just post a full stop or rudely announce that they're placemarking is their desire to see the deletion message. It's nothing more than troll hunting and I'd like to see it treated in the same way by MNHQ.
