To return these sandals?

I bought a lovely pair of sandals at the end of April. They cost €65. I don't normally spend that much on sandals but I loved these ones so I pushed the boat out.

I didn't start wearing them until June so I've been wearing them on and off for about seven weeks although not every day (I have loads of shoes!).

The heel has worn down on them already. They have a kind of cork heel/wedge which which is kind of getting compressed and coming away at one part.

I'm disappointed considering how much I spent. Would I be justified returning them? Or would they think I'm a cheeky cow?

It looks like normal wear and tear to me.

I had a pair of shoes that wore ridiculously after a couple of weeks and they (Next, online) sent me a replacement pair and organised return for the worn ones. They assumed it was a faulty pair. So no harm asking but I'm not sure if they'd do a return, might have to be an exchange.

headacheschmeadache · 24/07/2017 13:42

And to be fair, the new pair lasted longer so maybe there was something wrong with the first pair.

I think that you should return them. Where were they from? Do you still have the receipt or proof of purchase?

OhDearToby · 24/07/2017 13:51

I work in a shoe shop and we'd replace those for you. They shouldn't be like that after a few months.

BlondeB83 · 24/07/2017 13:55

I would return them.

BrennieGirl · 24/07/2017 14:27

Headache I'm hoping that will be the case here because I really like them and obviously there are a few more weeks of summer left.

They are from Dune. I don't recall ever buying from them before so I don't know what the quality should be like.

I'll have a hunt for my receipt. I usually buy on debit or credit cards. If I can't find my receipt, do you think they'll accept a bank statement instead?

I've just had a look online to see if they still have them (out of stock Sad) and there are several reviews with the same complaint as mine so they must be a dodgy design. Oh and they were €75 not 65.

I'd still take them back op, especially if others have complained about the same problem. I'd expect 75€ sandals to last a lot longer than 3 months before looking like that.

I had some similar sandals but the had a higher wedge heel and cost less than £30 and I wore them for the majority of 3 summers before the heels started to look like those.

I think that should be fine. I've used bank statements before in similar circumstances
