She's trying to 'friend' me! Shock

It's just me being funny, right?
Or is it? Hmm

It depends what she's like

StillDrivingMeBonkers · 22/07/2017 22:44

I don't have any of my family on FB - not DH or the adult children - its my space - actually none of us are on each others.

acapellagirl · 22/07/2017 22:44

Haha on one level it could be said YABU on another level I can see the potential for awkwardness!!

Imstyledilemma · 22/07/2017 22:44

Really?
She's only joined to stalk people Grin

Wolfiefan · 22/07/2017 22:44

Mothers aren't allowed on FB? Shit. You should've told me. Hmm

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 22/07/2017 22:45

I'm on facebook so that I can tell my kids off when they swear. They've blocked me now though

Imstyledilemma · 22/07/2017 22:46

I know what you're saying.

She's entitled to join.

but, I feel like she's encroaching on my personal space.
I think I will accept her friend request, but put restrictions on it.

OP posts:
sonjadog · 22/07/2017 22:46

I have this too. My mother is not on fb. She says that if she was, she would not stalk me but when I say that she can join but not be my friend, then she says there is no point...

I´m not changing my position on this. She would be all over every single thing I wrote, commenting on it and demanding I edit/post stuff.

sonjadog · 22/07/2017 22:46

I have plenty of other family on fb she could be friends with. Just not me.

Imstyledilemma · 22/07/2017 22:47

Mothers aren't allowed on FB?
Exactly.
They don't get it.

MaidOfStars · 22/07/2017 22:47

My Mum is the queen of random 'likes' and 'shares'. It's brilliant when she advertises the PhD positions my work colleagues are trying to fill.

This is what I think.
They take things too seriously.
God forbid you should 'like' something.
They then take it as gospel that you're really into that thing that you 'liked'.
FFs. Can't be doing with it.

OP posts:
Wolfiefan · 22/07/2017 22:50

Um. I'm a mum. I think maybe you didn't get it. I was being sarcastic! Grin

BackforGood · 22/07/2017 22:51

IME, it is all us 'mothers' who now use FB - the "youth" have moved on. Most of their sharing is done elsewhere, not on FB - it's you who should move off OP (if you are young ?) Wink

Imstyledilemma · 22/07/2017 22:51

My mum's a nosey cow.

OP posts:
Imstyledilemma · 22/07/2017 22:52

To make it clear,
I'm a mum too, (with teenagers)
But I don't befriend them on FB.

OP posts:
Wolfiefan · 22/07/2017 22:53

Wow. Your mum is a nosey cow? How rude. Be her friend on FB. She'll soon unfriend and block you with an attitude like that!

WatchingFromTheWings · 22/07/2017 22:54

The kids all use snapchat these days! If my 'D'M joined FB I'd block the bitch NC for VERY good reasons!.

TwitterQueen1 · 22/07/2017 22:54

Darling! I'm so upset! Why won't you be my friend? Mama luffs you so much hun I just wanna hug you to bits.
Wink

Imstyledilemma · 22/07/2017 22:55

Ha ha Grin Not rude.
If you knew her, you would agree.
She is in her element since joining FB.
I've gone right off it.

OP posts:
Imstyledilemma · 22/07/2017 22:56

I would absolutely love it if she blocked and unfriended me.

Sushi123 · 22/07/2017 22:58

Oh no no no...it does depend on the type of relationship you have with your mum...personally, there is no way my mum would be on mine..
