that's right ZIP, NADA, RIEN, NICHTS

I know it was a comp and so I didn't pay anything for the prize, but that's beside the point isn't it? First time I'd won on MN, I was cock a hoop, and great hilarity ensued when it was announced that Bear was off to fairy school. No-one would have loved to go to Barbie's Fairytopia Fairy School more than DD, but nobody got in touch with tickets - no calls, letters or emails. MN Towers chased Mattel, and despite them having my address, phone no. and email address, they didn't have the grace to get in touch. Nasty Mattel; poor DD.

I'd love to say we'll now be boycotting Barbie products (for several reasons), but DD's got a wilful streak so I can see our Barbiequotient continuing to rise however hard I put my foot down.

Anyway I'm glum and if Mattel via MN Towers would like to make it up to me with a family weekend at one of those Luxury Family Hotels, they have my number (and address and email address or did I already mention that?)....

oooh that's not good. I won a mumsnet competition for a cottage holiday- small family business and they were superstars. Mattel should be ashamed of themselves, big corporations and all that. Has the Fairy School date passed or is it still ongoing (wondering if tickets will come your way yet).

it was after all Barbie

hardly ethically sound

I shall boycott them on your behalf .. ooo bugger I already am because of their appalling representation of the female form and aspirations

oh that's naughty. So they get some free publicity, don't deliver the goods, and leave one little girl disappointed.

yes but Barbie clears up her dogs crap so she can't be all bad imo

I know it's NOT THE SAME but would this be of any interest (it's certainly easier on the adult stomach)?

it won't be mattel it will be the fault of a young exec at their agency

the lovely Olivia@mumsnet's on the case and although it's too late for DD to get to go to Fairy School now, she may well end up a little less glum - fingers crossed

Hey - the lovely people at Mattel (get me, what a lightweight) have been in touch and apologised profusely about DD missing fairy school due to their error and offered goodies to make up for it. I'm sure once she's received these, Fairy School will no longer be an issue. Could be a win-win - DD gets Barbie goodies and Bear doesn't have to go near Fairy School. Thanks to Olivia for dealing.

Happier Bear
