Groomzillas

On the latest Bridezilla thread, someone has commented that the temporary insanity around weddings 'never seems to affect men'. So I started thinking - is that true?

I personally have never come across a Groomzilla - but now I'm wondering, do they exist? Does anyone have a juicy Groomzilla story to share?

I've only come across 1 but he is gay and the other groom was typically low-stress.

Oh they do exist... but the one I know very much had a bridezilla at his side so hard to tell how much of her attitudes just rubbed off on him.

There was a lot of talk from him about their special day, would be the best day of their lives, the one chance for everything to be all about them etc.

Don't know if this counts, but I used to have a male friend who I hadn't spoken to for many years. We weren't especially close in the first place, but had been in the same halls at university.

He phoned me up one day, out of the blue, told me he was engaged and that he wanted to send me a save the date card for his wedding. He made a very big deal of how important it was to him that I attend. I thought it was very nice, but also slightly unexpected, as we weren't especially close.

STD card came. I saved the date. Then the invite came. It was on the other side of the country and my husband (who he knew from university) wasn't invited. I couldnt drive at the time and was heavily pregnant. I politely declined the invite and he sent me a nasty text about how poor my effort was. I have as little to do with him as possible now. I always thought he was a bit unpleasant. This confirmed it for me.

His wife (who I have met a few times) is absolutely lovely though.
