I'm happy so I don't know why this happens - but I have a reoccurring day dream about simply running away. Giving up my job, jumping on a plane and travelling the world surviving on "travel work" in my field.

I know I'd never do it but sometimes I catch myself thinking "go on, you'll be laying on your death bed one day wishing you'd done it".

Anyone else?

Yep. I'm 40 and still want to work my way around the world doing casual work - bar staff, waiting staff, whatever.

Sat here at work and the only thing stopping me getting in the car and just driving off is dd, the cat and the mortgage......at a serious FML point right now.....

araiwa · 20/07/2017 14:48

So i did

whiteroseredrose · 20/07/2017 21:10

Yes. When I was doing a PGCE.

GreatBigPolarBear · 20/07/2017 21:13

Yes! Bizarrely it's usually when I'm putting the bins out! I always think I could just leave the bin and keep walking down the road.

Yes. But it would be to a remote Scottish island with my children.

Definitely. Sometimes I just want to disappear deep into the woods / forest somewhere and be on my own for a while.

Fightthebear · 20/07/2017 21:22

Yup - the thought of running off and just sitting quietly on a beach on my own comes to me quite a lot.

I think about this when I'm driving along a long road with lots of thinking time. I think a lot about keeping driving and not going home and how I would stay untraceable (& a lot about never tripping over shoes or making a packed lunch again!).
