Ordering contact lenses - posting for traffic (sorry!)

Hi everyone,

This is a really random AIBU - sorry! I just thought posting here was worth a try.

I've run out of contact lenses and will be going away this coming Saturday for a few days so need some fairly urgently.

Earlier today, I phoned up the optician (not London-based) that I normally go to for an appointment.

They've said that I'm due a check-up with them, and that they can't order any contact lenses until they've done the check-up and are sure that my prescription hasn't changed.

AIBU to ask you if you know whether I could ring an optician up tomorrow to book an appointment ASAP and then hopefully get some contact lenses ordered before this coming Saturday? Or am I being totally unrealistic?

I'm based in London at the moment.

Thanks! :)

Thanks. I'm hoping now that I'll be able to get an appointment with an optician tomorrow or on Thursday! :)

I came to say Vision Direct too.
Get on to them now. You don't need a prescription or anything.
Order now and they'll be there by Saturday.

I use contactlenses.co.uk, they offer next day delivery and free first class post.

Which optician? Mine (Vision Express) have happily given me a few pairs to be going on with until my appointment (for free), and have often got packs in stock to sell me straight after the appointment. Depends on what your prescription is and what they have available on the shelf at the time.
