Cross post niggles

When I'm reading a thread and two similar posts appear from different users then one posts again saying "oops sorry! Cross post!"
Or something similar.
Why do this?!
It's not like you are telepathic, cross posts happen, there is no need to apologise for them or point them out.
Aibu that this annoys me so much! Probably am. I have likely just over heated in this weather!

Because some smart arse poster will usually put a sneery 'X already said that. RTFT fir God's sake '

Because sometimes it looks like you're copying something they've said, or unnecessarily ganging up on the OP.

It annoys (or rather amuses) me more, when people say "I didn't want to read and run".

It's not like the OP knows they've read it

Because sometimes the OP drip feeds something that makes you look like an idiot.

Still, all these reasons are obvious to me when I'm reading and running!

I get like this about people who make an almighty fuss about a zombie thread being posted on. Unless the thread is about an issue that is obsolete 'my mangle is broken' then it's likely to be relevant to a lot of people still. I think some posters forget that at any given time there are much newer posters who haven't read the thread.

TBF a lot of zombie threads are bumped by pervy trolls.

I hate it when people keep putting 'simples' at the end of posts. It's annoying.
But then I am in a foul mood today so maybe I need to calm down.

Can't say I get too wound up about cross post correction.

What does annoy me is people putting a . as a place mark and nothing else. Would rather they announced they were place marking or better still, use the watch and bookmark tools (although I am sure that argument has been talked about a million times and more)

There is one use who I have never seen write anything besides . on tons of posts.
