Just so disheartened

I just got knocked back from the fourth private rent I've applied for because landlords have picked other people over me.
I understand it's their choice who they rent to but I'm just so fed up of my situation. I live with my parents atm and I am a single mum to a four month old baby. My parents are selling the house so I need to move anyway but more importantly I'm finding them increasingly difficult to live with.
As soon as I get a place I will to go back to work (on mat leave atm) 30 hours a week, so I feel like I can't do much more money wise and I'm a nice person from a nice family, my parents even said they will guarantor for me on the rent yet everytime I've asked why I've been rejected it's because they'd prefer someone whose not a single parent or words to that effect.
I feel like it doesn't matter how hard I try to work or not work my options stay the same - get a council flat in an area I hate.
Does anyone have a successful story of private renting as a single mum?

Is it because you don't have an income? Or will be/are on benefits?

Never heard of 'no single mums' and i dont think they can do that.

I will earn about 900 a month and then get tax credits, I get hb but only about a quarter of what my rent will be.

I rent my house out whilst I'm working overseas to a single mum on benefits. She loves the property and has very high standards (much better than my slap dash ways). Hopefully she'll stay for a long time. Good luck hope you find somewhere soon.
