Dh leaving doors open

I've just got home with DD in the pram to discover that DH went out a couple of hours ago and left the back door wide open. The back garden can be easily accessed from the street and we often have parcel delivery people leaving deliveries by the back door. We're not country dwellers and indeed live pretty near an institution that means there's a lot of footfall past the house.

We have a small house, it's a matter of poking your head from the hall into the kitchen to check the back door is shut.

This isn't the first time, he has form for this.

AIBU to rip strips off him for his thoughtlessness? And any ideas how I can get it through to him that he has to bump safety and security up his mental agenda - every time?

I would be just as upset as you are. This is incredibly thoughtless and potentially very dangerous.
