To hate mowing the lawn

I have just spent the last goodness knows how long toiling up and down the garden, I'm hot and sweaty, the ground is uneven and the grass doesn't grow normally either. I usuall y do it every other week in the summer, or when it looks messy but it's a chore I absolutely loath! Aibu to want to live in a flat where I don't have to touch another blade of grass?

I don't understand lawns. What are they for? Why do they have to look all pristine? We have 2 and I don't really know why. Grin

Dad spends hours doing all the stripes. Just so he can look at it presumably?

Livnatmum · 16/07/2017 11:05

I don't understand them either, stripes would be a step too far for me!

I hate them, do you follow grow food not lawn?

Sparklingbrook · 16/07/2017 11:08

I walk up the lawn to hang the washing out. The only time I step on the front lawn is to mow it.

DancingLedge · 16/07/2017 11:08

They're not compulsory.

I dug all the lawn up in our back garden and planted veg. So much easier. Now to convince DP to let me do the same out the front...
