Kids and trampolines!!

Am I the only one worrying about all those trampoline places opening up and seemingly having very little consideration for health and safety especially when it comes to kids'/kids' parties? I love trampolining and so do my kids (we also have one trampoline at home, a fab little fitness one, not the monstrosity people have in their garden LOL) but i've been to 3 trampolining parties with my 6yrs old daughter and each time the health and safety standards have been abysmal!! Kids running around, staff encouraging horseplay... I won't go anymore to such parties but will continue to take my kids to the one I consider safer (and suitable for adults as all the local ones seem to have smaller trampolines, not as much fun for me :)) with me so that I know they are safe. I am not an overprotective parent so tell me do I overthink this?? I just know trampolines injuries can be very serious indeed... Maybe I am overreacting.. Anybody on my side or does everyone think I'm being a wuss?? :)

The one I go to is very strict. They have a video you have to watch before then staff go over the rules and stand and supervise and quickly stamp out any rule breaking.

That's why I use that one!

I've only ever been to two of these places but the ones I went to were not like that at all. They were very strictly supervised, staff everywhere, only one person per trampoline, loads of rules and regulations.

All the places should be like that!!!

I go to JumpNation with the kids and I find the supervision there is OK and the trampolines big enough for me to have fun. The two local places I have now been to have been very lax and letting chaos rule... :/

Anyone in the north west maybe you can tell me the good ones you go to? Don't want to name and shame the 'bad' ones but would be happy for recommendations on the safety conscious ones :)

Several years ago one of my children had to have an op and was on an orthopaedics ward. More than half the children on the ward at that time were there for operations to sort out problems caused by falling off trampolines, or falling while on them with other children. I was astonished that so many injuries were caused by them. We got rid of ours soon after.

I went to one once. Safety was awful and the staff just stood there
Letting kids jump into deep foam pits on top Of each other. Never went back.

I went with our friends when I was pregnant, I didn't go trampolining just sat at the side with friends newborn while they went for a jump with older dc. They had to watch a safety video etc. But I did worry that they let toddlers and teens and adults all charging about knocking each other over. One boy got carted off in an ambulance after an adult didn't check the foam pit before jumping and landed on the child. They aren't supervised adequately at the one near us so I would have to make sure I went on with dd to protect her.

Someone broke their back in the one near us recently. I realise accidents happen but it's a risk I'm not prepared to take.

A lot of councils are now turning down planning applications due to the accident rate (I work with planners).

Personally I wouldn't worry about it too much however I don't think it's unreasonable to, different people are comfortable with different risk
