Don't know if anybody knows about this but a man has been fighting court battles over the last couple of years due to a "copyrighted" picture (attached). The reason? Well due to the fact that it's a selfie that the animal took of themselves with the man's camera mounted on a tripod, PETA are suing the man because they think the monkey owns the copyright to the photo. Am I the only one that thinks this is fucking absurd? If they win does the money go to them or the monkey?
It's apparently cost the man thousands and thousands of pounds trying to fight court battles and has apparently left him broke and not wanting (or capable) to travel around the world taking photos of animals and wildlife as he did before. He couldn't even afford the flight to America to show up to court in the latest court hearing.
I used to read people blasting PETA but never really paid attention and just thought peoole were being unfair over an organisation that cared for animals but if this is the way they always carry on, well, I can understand people's dislike of them.
