Sometimes, when I've just stopped ( usually in a car park, the car next to me moves and I have a mini panic as it feels like it's MY car that's moving! ( Prepares for the men in white coats to come and take her away. )

Ive had that .. It's very disconcerting! Made me slam my brakes on a few times.

Dozyoldtwonk · 12/07/2017 23:10

Oooooh me too. Even more unnerving when at traffic lights Confused

Domino20 · 12/07/2017 23:11

I get this. Mind tricks I think?

walkinganhouraday · 12/07/2017 23:11

Yes I get that. Almost like sea sickness. Especially get it at traffic lights on hills.
But I have epilepsy so I've always thought it might be connected to that.

KoolKoala07 · 12/07/2017 23:11

Me too!

I find it works best when on trains and buses where you aren't in control of the movement. I love it when this happens!

cariadlet · 12/07/2017 23:15

I've never had it in the car. Maybe cos I don't drive and don't really notice other cars.

But I often have it at train stations. Especially if the train next to mine pulls away. It feels like it's the one that I'm on which has started to move.

Once I was on A massive ferry in Greece, I saw we were moving off, and began to feel queasy, till I realised it was the one next to us moving, and we were still stationary.....

The80sweregreat · 13/07/2017 07:53

My car did start to move really slowly once when i put the boot up to get my bags out. i was able to get the handbrake quickly and it wouldnt have hit anything or anyone , but it really freaked me out and now i am paranoid about the handbrake and putting the boot up in case the car rolls away from me again! If someone moves away at the side of me i think its my car moving and i often go back to double check the car that the handbrake is actually on. its a fear of mine now and i have no idea why it happened as its one of those automatic hand brakes and the car wasnt on any kind of slope or anything unusual. I hate driving as it is anyway! I hate being on a train when its stationary and a train at the side of it moves off too, it feels weird.

theymademejoin · 13/07/2017 11:43

The car on both sides of me started to move off at the same time the other day. Now, that was disconcerting!

PicaPauAmarelo · 13/07/2017 11:45

Happens to me too. On trains as well! Bloody annoying.

bridgetreilly · 13/07/2017 11:50

Completely normal. All movement is relative. Ground yourself by looking at something outside that isn't moving, like a tree or a building.

Or your husband!!
