To ask what you do when you have a cold/runny nose

Do you blow your nose, or sniff it up.

If you do one does others doing the other irrationally irritate you?

Long story looking for unbiased responses before I considering smothering my otherwise amazing partner

Blow. Otherwise I end up with a cough & chest infection.

Blow. Sniffing it up Causes sinus infections and I can't bear to hear it. It doesn't cause me the rage but it isn't nice to hear someone sucking their snot back up into their head.

I do try to blow my snotty nose in private.

I never blow my nose. I hate it and it seems to achieve nothing.

I blow...lots.

Unless I'm in bed and then I sniff. I suspect DH has done well not to murder me.

DD once slept in my bed when DH was away and shouted at me first thing in the morning for sounding like a hoover all night long.

Blow blow blow! You don't want that gunk in your body.

The snot is your bodies way of expelling the germs.
I hate sniffers. I work beside one and the sound of the phlegm/snot gurgling EVERY SINGLE DAY at least twice an hour makes me want to slap him around the head and then murder him in all sorts of slow torturous ways.

Blow, better out than in. Unless no tissue of course.

Then have something spicy to eat, like a curry with lots of raw onion salad and hot lime pickle :)

In public, sniff. But not one of the awful, loud, gross ones. Tissues ruin my make-up.

Plus one nostril never seems to blow properly and it tickles and makes me splutter.

At home I blow, or in a public toilet (pardon the phrasing) if I can fix my makeup.

Haha thanks everyone, my partner can't blow his nose. No clue why, his mother has no idea why he can't either his sister can no problem but everytime he gets a cold the sniffing (think every 30 seconds) makes me consider murder

Wondered if I was the odd one or not.

Blow my nose, preferably in the bathroom. Can't stand hearing people blow their nose or sniff
