I flat share with 3 others. I got up around 6am this morning to get ready for work to find urine over the toilet seat and bathroom floor, and on of my housemates passed out, in their underwear on the kitchen floor having left the water tap and oven on after a night of drug and alcohol use!!

aibu to think this isn't acceptable behaviour when you share with other people and to of turned off the oven and tap but left the mess and urine to be cleaned by the culprit?

Well of course it's not acceptable!

That's disgusting. Oh how I'm thankful I don't flatshare anymore. My housemate regularly used to come home trashed and be sick in various places, then start wailing and crying at the top of her lungs at some ungodly hour.

What are you going to do to confront your gross flatmate?

As long as they clean up before i get home im sure i could get over it

These are random housemates, the letting agents just placed us together. And this isn't the first occurrence. It has been spoken about with the culprit before but nothing has changed, in fact it seems to have worsened.

My main concern is the oven because of the fire risk as I was last to leave for work and the fact that the situation seems to be worsening and not getting better.

Immediately contact letting agents. Point out to them that if the oven had caused a fire, the building could have been seriously damaged and lose them income while it was refurbished. Let alone the risk to life (because it may only be an electric oven, but if this person is so trashed they don't know they are doing what they are doing, they could put something in there).
