AIBU?

Should I LTB or quit Zoflora?

My husband hates Zoflora. Complains that it makes the house smell of cat pee and has actually gone looking for puddles when he didn't realise I had just washed the floor! I love Zoflora and have a number of bottles in a variety of scents. The house has got away from me a bit lately so I had a plan to gut the kitchen/bathroom/utility/shower room during the first week of the holidays, using my new Pink Grapefruit bottle. Should I a) Go ahead and make him live in the garden or b) Just use Fairy Liquid?

What???/LTB seriously.

I'm on the Zoflora Love FB group as much as I'm on here. I think it's an obsession.

Actually, I've come to the same conclusion. The dry down smell that's left isn't very nice. I'll use it for drains still but not my floors.

I'm with your DB. I cant stand the smell of Zoflora, and don't get the love for it at all.

You'll just have to LTB I'm afraid.

I'm quite a recent Zoflora convert (due to MN, of course) and DH asks why the room doesn't smell nice if I clean the floor with anything else, now. Grin

Lise him. Pink Grapefruit is a lovely smell. Lavender is also a favourite.

Can't stand linen fresh or winter spice though.

there is a weird blog where someone goes on about Zoflora obsession, their partner hates it. Someone on here posted a link to it once, bleach and tonic or somehting? perhaps you could pair them up.

Hate any of those artificially potent things! I do clean with smelly things, but I don't use them for the smell! I open windows and air rooms out so they lose the smell.
My lovely cleaner started using zoflora and I had to ask her to stop!

Also a recent convert thanks to MN.
Oh my it's wonderful stuff! Working my way through the fragrances. Favourites so far are linen and spring fresh. I've picked up some of the lavender to use in the kids bedrooms.
Lavender immediately takes me back to the first few weeks with my boys. The midwife recommended putting some lavender oil in the bath when I was healing after childbirth.

I'm afraid I'm another vote for LTB.

Zoflora is Devils piss. Gives me a thumping headache and it STINKS. Artificial perfume is rank.

Hmm depends on what 'flavour' of Zoflora. I love Hyacinth but Twilight Garden is disgusting.
So it maybe a specific fragrance or there is a 3rd option: wash Husband in Zoflora Grin

I'd try and agree on a fragrance you both like - bouquet does it for both of us (by himself DH would go for the unspeakably vile winter spice).

If he won't play ball after such a reasonable suggestion then LTB for being so pigheaded

Seriously though thanks for such a fun post - one of the others has pushed a few buttons for me tonight and i was feeling a bit down.

Zoflora scented Flowers for you

All grapefruit smells have a whiff of cat pee. I never bought Zoflora, does it leave a lasting smell? That is horrid, houses have no BO, surely?

Yuk, I hate artificial smells, including bleach and all softeners. Lose the zoflora, keep your sane hubby.

All grapefruit smells have a whiff of cat pee.

I would rather have a whiff of real cat pee than any Zoflora, grapefruit or otherwise. At least it is natural Grin.

You need to tackle this by making lists.

1.Advantages of DH v Advantages of Zoflora
2. Things I dislike doing if DH goes v the smell of the house without Zoflora
3. Financial Impact of making him leave v financial Impact of buying pine disenfectant instead.

This, it is bloody vile stuff, I love my cleaning products but zoflora is fake, sweet smelling, headache inducing rubbish.

A family member run some tests as part of their job (hygiene practices in the food industry). Zoflora was the only disinfectant based product that bacteria actually multiplied on.

I'm with your DH, the only thing Zoflora should be used for is cleaning piss from the bottom of a horse's stable. Even then I let it air first before subjecting the horse to it!

I can offer your husband refuge in a house that uses Method cleaners, as long as he brings a second income as they aren't cheap 😂

Horrible stuff, sickly cloying stink. I used it once and couldn't get rid of the smell. Really off putting to drink a cup of tea that seemed to taste of it

Stop using the lavender scent. That's the one that smells of cat piss Wink

I had never heard of zoflora until I started reading mumsnet, just the names put me off as they sound like headache inducing Yankee candles. Plus I just like the smell of plain bleach
