to have kept this many birthday candles?

Picture attached. I have just made DD1s birthday cake and realised I have a massive quantity of used birthday candles. Obviously all have been used once, for about 10-20 seconds, so it has always seemed wasteful to throw them away. However, it always seems not special enough to put slightly used candles on a carefully handmade cake, so I always end up using new ones.

Do you keep and reuse birthday candles? Should I just throw them away? Melt them down and create some kind of wax sculpture?

I reuse them. I normally bring the cake through with the candles lit so nobody would notice they're not new anyway.

I reuse them too.

I reuse them.

But I chuck the little holders because they get icing on and are impossible to clean.

We reuse them too and light them up several times as the DCs love to have a go again (even when it is not their birthday :) ).

Oh, if you don't want to reuse them, you could pop them on Freecycle or similar?
