skirmish · 23/03/2007 10:47

i know the feeling...

now i just would wind down the window and tell them to fark off

powder28 · 23/03/2007 10:48

ha ha, i would have done that too.
Actually i did do that once. I flooded the engine and it wouldnt budge, at the lights also.I just got out and walked into town to see my sister cos i really didnt know what to do. I practically had a nervous breakdown in the shop!!
When i went backt to the car the police had moved it on the island.

WotzsanEgg · 23/03/2007 10:49

[[[[hug]]]]] what sh*ts other drivers can be.

Hulababy · 23/03/2007 10:49

How mean of them!

I got a fist shaken at me when I broke down ain moiiddle of main city ring round on a roundabout. Like I meant to stay parked there! Had already tried to move car but it was jammed between gears and wouldn't move. Made me feel like crying too.

How you are feling better!

wanderingstar · 23/03/2007 10:49

Oh no! Too stressful !

I got abuse yesterday from a white van driver. I was stationary in a queue to exit from a side road. Moron in white van opens his door, bumping my mirror, then shouts at me...I wound down the window, looked down my nose at him and told him, calmly, after his rant was over, that I thought his rear bumper was hanging off.

It wasn't but I enjoyed the look of total puzzlement on his stupid face.

LieselVentouse · 23/03/2007 10:49

This was a few days ago and I had had such a bad day that at lunchtime I decided to go for a drive - okay I was advised not to as I was upset to begin with - stalled and traffic lights and got barrage of peeping horns and one guy actually got out and banged on my window - I am also visibly PG - why do people have to get so hung up about parking and drivers - nearly every thread on here is about the way people drive or the way people park - get a grip.

{{{hug}}} thats not nice at all and very very vrey rude, ignore them and hold your head high

CadburyCremeSquonk · 23/03/2007 10:51

{{{hugs}}}

It is awful, you poor, poor thing.

That happened to me when I was learning, and had my dad in the car. Dad got out and nearly started a fight with about 6 irate motorists. I was so worked up I couldn't carry on and Dad had to drive us home.

Can't imagine how bad it would have been if I was on my own and pg

gits

Katy44 · 23/03/2007 10:53

That's awful.
I once completely accidentally pulled out at a mini roundabout when I shouldn't - it was completely my fault I admit. I cut this guy up, but there wasn't really any danger. He followed me about 6 miles all the way home and then came over to my car and in a menacing voice said "It's a roundabout. You're supposed to stop". I sat there shaking as I was convinced he was going to punch me. I was on my own. What a tw@t.

castlesintheair · 23/03/2007 10:57

Sympathies LV, especially when pg. I must be getting old but I feel increasingly fed up with the way other people behave on the road. I might have racing driver tendencies but I'm always letting people out, giving way etc. I let a bloke out of a side road yesterday and he very openly gave bird

IdreamofClooney · 23/03/2007 10:59

I never understand why people get soooo upset if someone stalls at lights or doesn;t immediatly speed off. They are delayed for like 10 seconds - how is that something to get that angry about?? It amazes me everytime I see it.

I also hate it when you have pushed the button to cross the road and some cars will speed up to get through the red light and others will barely wait till you've got your buggy onto the pavement before speeding off - what is that all about? Who are these people? Top brain surgeons called to an emergency operation? I think not

LieselVentouse · 23/03/2007 11:00

"Gave bird"???????????????????????

OP posts:
powder28 · 23/03/2007 11:03

wanderingstar thats is a fantasitc way to deal with someone being abusive.

castlesintheair · 23/03/2007 11:06

Showed me his middle finger LV. Delightful behaviour isn't it and quite baffling, I wonder what he would have done if I hadn't let him out!?

HoppyDaddy · 23/03/2007 11:06

DW had this recently. Stalled at lights, car behind beeping and waving his arms. She got out, looked at bloke and shouted "WAIT!". He shouted various names, she walked a pace towards him and said "I'll wait here all day if you like, what are you going to do about it?" He went very quiet.

I worry she's going to get her head kicked in one day.

Katy44 · 23/03/2007 11:10

I've never understood it - I get irritated at arrogant drivers, but no-one thinks "Oh I know what would be amusing, why don't I stall on this busy roundabout? That'll cheer everyone's day up!"

CadburyCremeSquonk · 23/03/2007 11:11

Definition of a split second:

The time between the lights changing and the car behind beeping.

powder28 · 23/03/2007 11:13

Isnt Britain the angriest country in the world?

DaisyMOO · 23/03/2007 11:38

Poor you Liesel and what twaTs other car drivers can be. I got parped at angrily by another car yesterday My crime? Turning right and holding him/her up for about 3 seconds

snowleopard · 23/03/2007 11:43

I feel angry with drivers who speed and overtake past me dangerously, bully me by driving up my arse when I'm going at the speed limit, etc. (not that I'd yell at them or follow them home!) They're breaking the law - but it's the same wankers who get mad at other people for making simple mistakes like stalling. Really feel for you.
