Pan cook salmon fillets wrapped in bacon?!

I want to use up some bacon. But was going pan sear the fish.

Am I going to have to grill it?

I wouldn't personally, salmon has such a subtle flavour it would likely be overwhelmed by bacon. I normally cook mine in a foil packet with some butter, a squeeze of lemon and black pepper in the oven.

BoneStripped · 03/07/2017 19:52

I wouldn't either - in order for the bacon to be cooked the salmon would be totally overcooked. Salmon and bacon don't really go that well together.

Have the bacon for breakfast!

Yeah, don't do that.

Blob of pesto or soy, chilli and ginger on the top and job's a goodun

buggerthebotox · 03/07/2017 19:57

Wouldn't salmon collapse if wrapped in bacon? Hmm.

BertieBotts · 03/07/2017 20:01

Cook the bacon with some onions and mushrooms into a tomato sauce and serve with pasta.

Eat the fish tomorrow. (Or reverse if preferred).

cod works with bacon, but not salmon.

use the bacon for a quick carbonara or bacon roll

Isetan · 03/07/2017 20:10

Bacon and salmon together, no don't do it. Parchment baked salmon with soy and ginger is the dogs b. Save the bacon for a breakfast bacon frittata, hmmmmm.

I do chorizo with cod

Hear, hear to a foil parcel and I sometimes put a bit of sun dried tomato on top of the salmon and a splash of cooking white.

Bacon wouldn't work IMO and I do like to try interesting combinations

I think bacon needs to be put with a meaty white fish (e.g. cod, bream or monkfish).

How about a quick salmon stir-fry?
