To think this isn't a spoiler...

Watching a movie last night with DH which we'd both seen before (and seen together). Without thinking I revealed vital plot details (I can't wait for so and so to happen) which was met with a sulky 'thanks for spoiling it!'.

DH tends to watch a movie and then erase its very existence from memory whilst I watch something once and it's forever imbedded in my brain.

WIBU? It wasn't intentional I'm just super passionate about movies and get sucked in when I'm watching to the point I forget about DH's cinematic amnesia.

Hbu, you can't spoil a film you've already seen Confused.

But why do you have to comment on the film while you're watching it if you know what he's like? I would hope that you manage to watch films in the cinema without doing that.

I recently rewatched The Sixth Sense and had completely forgotten the major plot twist (I won't spoil itWink) but I gasped in shock then suddenly remembered I already knew Grin

I also often forget parts of films so sometimes DP will reveal upcoming plot lines. I think of it not so much as a spoiler as a memory trigger i.e. "Oh yeah! That's what happens" - so I would agree with you and say definitely not a spoiler!

My DH will start watching some random crap film (his fave type) while I ignore it and mumsnet. After ten minutes I realise that he /we have seen it before and say so. Hell deny ever seeing it before despite the fact that I know what going to happen even though I was only half watching the first time.
Cinematic amnesia is definitely a thing.
