Not to my taste. Do you think they look more like something a gran would make?

londonrach · 02/07/2017 06:23

I quite like them, but then I like crochet things.

Izzabellasasperella · 02/07/2017 07:03

I didn't realise they were coasters, aren't they a bit bumpy surely a cup or glass wouldn't stay upright on those?

Katkincake · 02/07/2017 08:11

Not Facebook, but spotted this when looking on eBay for paw patrol cake things for DS birthday this morn. Such likeness, particularly like the use of pinking shears to cut the random shapes under the letters. Yours for only £17 Shock

Bornnie? Born Nie? so confused.

mummyrabbitpeppapig · 02/07/2017 08:21

Anyone remember the doll knitted toilet roll covers?

JeffVadersMum · 02/07/2017 08:21

Bornnie?? what is that???

Flatt7 · 02/07/2017 08:22

They are doilies!

SmileEachDay · 02/07/2017 08:23

Is that as in new bornie baby, maybe?

CaoNiMartacus · 02/07/2017 08:24

I actually really like those crochet owls! Blush

debbs77 · 02/07/2017 08:25

Not sure it's nice to criticise something someone has made. I think they're nice and a lot of work goes into stuff like that

SmileEachDay · 02/07/2017 08:28

deb but coasters made of wool are...erm...inadvisable at best, surely?

CockacidalManiac · 02/07/2017 08:35

If they're being offered for sale, people have every right to comment.

NancyDonahue · 02/07/2017 08:36

The owls are cute. The sort of thing you can hang inside a cupboard to make you smile when you open it. The doilies are pretty, but a bit old useless in today's homes.

debbs77 · 02/07/2017 08:38

Why? They can just be washed if necessary.

Some people use them for display, and other use them under jar candles etc.

YellowCushions · 02/07/2017 08:48

I thought the coasters were tiny little hats for teachers. 😬

Brittbugs80 · 02/07/2017 09:05

I do lots of crochet but make coasters from t-shirt yarn or jute string. Coasters are better if made from a cotton type yarn rather than wool.

The paw patrol cake decs are actually very good value. They take a long time to make. And the rectangles the letters are sitting on aren't done with pinking shears they're scallop edged cutters. Sending the lettering by post without being attached to a sturdier base would more than likely result in broken lettering on arrival.

The crochet work - I'm not a crochet fan but again, a lot of work goes into it and it will be appreciated as a kind gesture.

Katkincake · 02/07/2017 09:36

I know how much time it takes to make sugarcraft items. I do it as a hobby so know what kind of finish can be achieved (i.e. I'd at least make an evenly spaced and uniform square under each letter)

I wouldn't dream of charging anyone for something that badly executed.

anyoldname76 · 02/07/2017 09:42

i crochet and im not a gran Grin i agŕee that coasters should be made in cotton but i think the owls are cute

Grilledaubergines · 02/07/2017 10:04

And yet you thought pinking shears had been used. Confused

debbs77 · 02/07/2017 10:16

I can't believe that anyone would set up a thread to laugh at other people. No matter how 'fun' it is portrayed

Katkincake · 02/07/2017 10:22

Grilledaubergines - because it looked like they'd cut the 'squares' with scissors, not the right equipment. Anyway, my intention wasn't to poke fun, i'm more gobsmacked that anyone could sell something so bad.

I actually like the owls and crochet, they're well made.

QueenArseClangers · 02/07/2017 10:46

At least the crochet stuff involves skill, unlike the usual scrabble tile shite!
