How to progress at work if your not management material?

Just that really.... im just not cut out for management. Im going to have to retrain anyway as my current professoon in education is going NO WHERE.
Anyone else the same?

OH yes- me too. Have no desire to climb the ladder, and don't feel up to it anyway. Do sometimes worry that I appear lazy or not committed for not wanting to do it. Happy at level I am though.

Apply to work for a large company so you can keep applying for internal jobs that crop up every year or two. I'm an analyst in an industry that prefers to offshore/outsource them & so find most of my new jobs internally on various short time projects/assignments.

A mate of mine from the company I used to intern at had absolutely no desire to become VP, and instead of being an associate for the rest of his career, moved into academia.
