Basically 4 weeks ago 5 year old daughter broke her elbow at gymnastics.
We were told it was a clean break and there was no displacement. Got a lovely pink glittery cast. 2 weeks later another X-ray and break has healed well and cast will come off in 2 weeks time. 4 weeks after break we find out there may also be a dislocation. We got given the impression that it may have just healed that way. We will ask more questions but we're a bit thrown on Friday as we thought it was healing well.
Thanks to Dr Google I suspect it may have been a missed Montiaggio fracture (Yes I know!!!) but it does seem pretty textbook.
An operation has been mentioned but we don't know yet (nothing done as sore throats and temp - bacterial Tonsillitis it turns out, just what we need lol)
So we are back next week with the view to operating (still hoping for a miracle)
Just can't think of anything else this weekend. Panicking with her as she now has a possible dislocation with no protection. She has not yet straightened her arm out and it looks a bit strange.
Worried about the operation and what involves.
Worried about her recovery and school. Worried about getting my 2 year old looked after (no family nearby)
Worried about work!
And then worried that they have missed the boat for fixing her elbow properly.
I'm not blaming anyone and not looking to do so just frustrated as she had managed so well for 4 weeks in the cast but just dreading going back to stage 1!
