To ask for decor advice (my bedroom)

We have a smallish master bedroom with en suite. I'm desperate to decorate it but with it being small we're limited as to what we can do. It currently has a double bed, sliding wardrobes, a chest of drawers and two bedside tables.

DH wants a king size bed but if we did that, we wouldn't have space for any bedside tables.

Also, I love the "New York loft" style furniture but it's all dark wood and I'm thinking a small bedroom needs brighter decor? So I thought about the mirrored/glass style furniture but would that look dated and old fashioned quickly?

Will white furniture look cheap?

What would you do?!

I think dark wood balanced with white walls and white bedding could look good. I think white walls can be a bit harsh but they do make a room bigger.

Massive mirrors also make a room seem bigger, but I would go for a normal mirror, or maybe a wardrobe with mirrors, I think the mirror furniture will date quite quickly.
