Quick query about texting.

Apologies if this sounds like a daft question! A friend told me that you can send a text on a mobile phone and withold your number. Is this right? I've certainly never received a text from a withheld number. Plenty of calls,yes,but not texts. Am I right in thinking she has got this totally wrong? I've studied my phone's settings and I can't see any facility for doing this!

However, there is an app where you can select a different number, and text from that.

I've just googled it and I think it looks like there are apps you can use or websites - I've never done it myself and can't see the appeal but they might be right. Google anonymous texting

Only for bad reasons.

I don't need to do it personally! Thankfully I've not had the need to do so. But I was just a bit when my friend told me. I tried googling it but couldn't seem to find a straight answer on it.

Yeah there are rarely nice reasons for texting & witholding your number to do so...
