My comment got printed in the Daily Fail from a AIBU thread!

I now feel like a Z-Lister. So cool, so famous.

And I can't even tell anyone, DH is wondering what I am looking so smug about but I shall not tell him...I will not let my love addiction to AIBU on Mumsnet be revealed.

Have you ever been in the Daily mail because of a mumsnet post?

NoCapes · 28/06/2017 20:57

Yep a few times, I felt a bit dirty tbh

firsttimemum15 · 28/06/2017 20:58

Can we see the link?

LineyWimey · 28/06/2017 20:59

No, but I got quoted out of context in an advert placed by for Farters for Jaundice in the Independent.

Which was a bit shit really.

EdmundCleverClogs · 28/06/2017 21:01

Yes I have. Very embarrassing being in that shit rag, even anonymously. Changed my username, it felt tainted after that.

caffeinestream · 28/06/2017 21:02

I was in the Mirror once (under an old name).

PacificDogwod · 28/06/2017 21:02

Yes, made me feel grubby too Sad

Livedandlearned · 28/06/2017 21:04

What sort of threads do they use? I never read that newspaper and don't plan to.

SmellMyCheeseYouMother · 28/06/2017 21:04

What thread was it?

frankie001 · 28/06/2017 21:15

I've been quoted on the fail on line. I felt dirty.

firsttimemum15 · 28/06/2017 21:15

Do they email you to tell you. Od never know

MadisonAvenue · 28/06/2017 21:22

A photo of me and my son appeared in an article on their sports section recently, and one of my son at the same event was in the print version of The Sun Blush

VanillaSugar · 28/06/2017 21:24

I started Jeremy Corbyn's biscuitgate and I was everywhere Blush

VanillaSugar · 28/06/2017 21:25
Biscuit
Hastalapasta · 28/06/2017 21:27

Nice! Now check huff post uk as they usually lift mn posts from the fail....

YouWouldntLetItLie · 28/06/2017 21:33

Ugh, in looking for that I found they've actually lifted two - the discipline one, but also the 'colourful' thread posted by the wedding guest who'd just been released from an inpatient psychiatric care unit and been seated away from the top table and most of her DP's family. It featured some spectacularly unhelpful responses. Hmm

Maman79 · 28/06/2017 21:36

I had my letter printed decades ago in the DailyFail - felt v proud :)

MrsDoylesTeabags · 28/06/2017 21:36

"Glamourous Kray Kray flaunts her ample comments during heated debate as she keeps her sexy secret from her hot man" Wink Grin
But what was the thread and was it unreasonable?

LivingInMidnight · 28/06/2017 21:38

Oh God I've just googled and I'm in the sun talking about mooncups and hand washing.

FriendPlease · 28/06/2017 21:44

omg, I can now say I'm almost famous myself as I've been on a MN thread with so many of you Grin

KrayKray00 · 28/06/2017 21:44

I'm not sure how to do a link but that's the website. There is another one on there too about a different topic.

MrsDoyle best headline ever!

OP posts:
Orlantina · 28/06/2017 21:48

I've had an apology from the Daily Mail Grin

And made them issue several corrections.

noblegiraffe · 28/06/2017 21:48

I googled my username and found myself in a PowerPoint presentation to some headteacher's conference talking about KS2 SATs. I was quite pleased about that to be honest.

And I was quoted in the HuffPost slagging off the Conservatives about collecting nationality data in schools. Also proud.

Don't think I've been in the Mail.

DJBaggySmalls · 28/06/2017 21:50

I got a whole article once that went along the lines of 'Redditor gives pregnant women life saving advice'. Top that
She had pre-eclampsia and no one recognised the symptoms.

blackteasplease · 28/06/2017 21:52

I've been in the Mail with my actual real name (not my fault) and felt quite sullied by that.

Beanjean · 28/06/2017 21:53

My first-ever post was one of those that got really out of hand with thousands of replies and went straight into the Daily Mail. Luckily I had a baby the following day which distracted me enough that I didn't feel too weirded out about it. The DM commenters were furious with me! Which pleased me, obvs
