AIBU to want to wake DC up to open presents? (Lighthearted)

Exciting watching DD, aged 4, opening Eid eve basket. This year she 'knows' more about what is going on.
DD 1, just wanted to play with glittery gift wrap...after deciding it looked nicer than it tasted Grin

What are your 'family traditions' when it comes to Eid?

Eid Mubarak

We normally do presents the night before but hubby was at work last night.

Am going to make something sweet prob sheer korma now then get kids up n dressed then go for prayers.

We will open presents when back then go to my mums for food.

The kids just love getting presents n it keeps them busy while we cook.

Ds injured himself last night so we had a trip to a and e. Nothing is cooked or prepared which means doing it later on.

Eid mubarek. Eldest went to mosque with his dad. 2 youngest stayed home with me to decorate. They came home. Called family. Did presents. Then a big breakfast. Vegged out for a bit and going out to the park for a walk and play soon then will plan dinner. So happy it is on sunday this year

I'm not a Muslim, but I'd like to wish all of you who are Eid Mubarak :)

Happy Eid!
In Bristol, at the Jamai Mosque in Easton, there was a wonderful Ifta celebration for all comers. The street was closed and a long, long tablecloth laid along it. People of all cultures and religions sat down together and shared food. A very happy evening.

Eid Mubarak!
Not Muslim, but I used to love this time when I taught, the majority of my students were celebrating, I miss it. The odd tray of baklava and the like making it's way to the staff room might have played a part ....

Eid Mubarak ladies.

I'm just enjoying a few moments of peace whilst my youngest has a nap. I think it's all gotten too much for him and the rest of the family are at my parents so I'm enjoying the quiet.

Put up decorations last night, presents were wrapped as I bought them during Ramadan so just had to bring them out of hiding once kids were asleep. Kids unwrapped one present each with their cousins last night (always new pajamas) which they then wore to bed.

The mosque iftar in Bristol sounds lovely!

Well I had a lovely meal at my sil's and had lovely cuddles with my baby nephew. H and family call it Bayram - not sure on spelling. This is probably a hang over from the days of communism. Another hang over is that they are non practicing but the day is marked with food and a family get together.

Eid Mubarak

Not Muslim either but now have Muslim relatives by marriage.

glitterglitters · 25/06/2017 23:29

Eid Mubarak. I'm not Muslim myself but my auntie and uncle are (parents' best friends) and we've always loved giving and receiving cards and sharing festivities with them when possible.

Hope you've all had a lovely day today with your families Smile
