First post so nervous
My son turned 13 today he had an amazing day however after being a forces family living all over we decided to move "back home"
We live within st least a ten minute drive from all grandparents,aunts,uncles and with it being a Saturday I thought at least one of them would of made the effort to see him I must add non phoned him either 😪
He's such a sensitive soul at least when we. Lived abroad or hundreds of miles away I could kind of understand it,
Today we picked up my nephew from my mums to go on a birthday treat she didn't come to the car we dropped said nephew to his mums my sister and didn't come to car either

I know I'm not being unreasonable but how do I move on?
We moved home to be near family and they just don't care I'm there for all of them too

Did they forget maybe?

Call them all out on it. Let them know you think it is shitty behaviour.

That's shit. I'd either tell them it's shit and see what they said, or just stop being there for them and concentrate on new friends instead.

It isn't a unique strory, moving close to family then them not caring two hoots. This isn't about you, this is about them and being ignorant. I hope your ds had a great day.

I agree you should say something to them.
I wouldn't put too much into them in future either, or expect too much. It's good you're close by though, even if they're rubbish with things like this, just the extra support in an emergency. Focus on friends and making new local friends instead.

This is very sad to read Crazy.. When you have lived away all over, did you have a lot of contact with family and such,,as in emails letters whatever, and all people knowing that you were coming home.
