What is wrong with people?

Yesterday, obviously the hottest day of the year down here in the South and what do I see on my travels?
Two dogs tied up outside a supermarket in the boiling hot sunshine no shade about, panting like crazy, whilst the owner merrily wanders through the air-conditioned store.
Then, in the afternoon I pop into my local B&Q, when I get back into my car a man gets into the car parked next to me and as he reverses out, there in the back seat is a poor panting greyhound.
Do these people have any respect for their pets or are they completely brain dead?
Btw, the owner of the tied up dogs got a massive telling off from an old lady but didn't seem to give two hoots, arsehole Angry

Well what are they meant to do with them?

WhooooAmI24601 · 22/06/2017 10:11

Leave them at home with lots of water and some peace?

Our dog hasn't been walked before 10pm any night since the hot weather began. It's common sense not to take them out during the hottest part of the day.

Lunchtimeburrito · 22/06/2017 10:11

Er, leave them at home like I do with my dogs!!

Well what are they meant to do with them?

Hmm Not take them out in the heat. Obviously.

ChinaRose · 22/06/2017 10:13

Not take them to the supermarket? I also don't understand people like this and I've called out a few over last few days.

WorraLiberty · 22/06/2017 10:13

YANBU

It's the same when people are walking their dogs along the pavement in boiling hot sunshine.

I often ask how they would cope walking along barefoot.

Donttouchthethings · 22/06/2017 10:14

Completely agree with you, OP. The pavement can be extremely hot too, burning their feet. People need to think more about their dogs welfare in this weather.

BandeauSally · 22/06/2017 10:14

I think we've just had a glimpse of what is wrong with these people. They're stupid.

Lunchtimeburrito · 22/06/2017 10:15

I can't understand anyone who thinks, 'oh a fancy a trip to the diy shop, It's boiling hot I'll take the dog along too what a great idea'??!!

OP posts:
Migraleve · 22/06/2017 10:18

Well what are they meant to do with them?

Hmmplease tell us you are joking?

BillyDaveysDaughter · 22/06/2017 10:20

Jeez, leave the dog at home...and if you're driving back from a walk, your stop at the DIY store or the shop will have to wait. Take the dog home then go back to the shop.

How much more publicity about it can there be? Bloody idiot morons.

TheFaerieQueene · 22/06/2017 10:23

Fucking bastards. I have had a grumpy but cool dog because I wouldn't take her out except v early, in the woods around our house - no pavements.
I would like to lock them in a hot car in a fur coat and see how they feel.

Lunchtimeburrito · 22/06/2017 10:24

I honestly think some people are still completely oblivious and genuinely can not see a problem. They really should not have pets of any kind, poor things.

OP posts:
RideOn · 22/06/2017 10:50

YANBU and they either have no sense or don't care.

luckylucky24 · 22/06/2017 10:52

They cannot be oblivious. It is all over the papers, social media, every where this time of year, every year! IT is obviously more convenient for them to drag the dog along, perhaps to save another outing specifically for the dog later in the day. It is stupidity and selfishness. It gives me the rage this and I don't even like animals that much!

Gileswithachainsaw · 22/06/2017 10:55

Yanbu

I have at least three vets that are posting on face book about the dangers eye

Not a day has gone past where the 5 second time about tarmac hasn't been posted.

Same goes about the usual clips of toddlers and people sat in cars.

They know they just don't care.

The same dogs who apparently can't he left for 20 mins for a trip to the shop suddenly are ok being left alone for hours while they hit the pub or go out with a friend Hmm

Want2beme · 22/06/2017 10:57

I've seen the same thing. You'd think with all the warnings given about this very subject, every pet owner would realise the dangers. I just want to scream when I see this. The government should run an ad campaign, just for all the thickos out there.
