It's a bit late for that surely? I live on an estate, most people have kids, most of the kids are in bed.

8am- 9pm reasonable, unless you have a newborn in quite close proximity then you start at 6am finish at 7pm Wink

My neighbour has just cut their hedge with loud hedge trimmer at quarter to nine. He has two small kids himself.

grannytomine · 21/06/2017 21:45

The council were cutting the grass verges here at 7 am. Great big noisy mowers. I wasn't impressed but I guess they were trying to avoid the hottest part of the day.

JamieXeed74 · 21/06/2017 21:46

There is about 6 of these threads now. Its very hot. Its very very hot. Every one is going out to do gardening late, just let it go, its the hottest day for 41 years.

PoppyTree · 21/06/2017 21:48

Yeah it's a bit late. But not stupidly late.

As has been said, it's hot hot hot, and verrrry humid. It's getting dark though - quite early. (as it's a bit overcast.) So I am surprised they can see!

BiddyPop · 21/06/2017 22:07

Neighbours directly behind have finally finished their extension - to c levitate they are have by a dinner party. Lovely except the new sliding door (whole length of the back wall) is wide open and there is lots of chat, no sign of an early finish, and I want to go to bed (at my normal time) in my room which is at the back of our house level
With their kitchen (on a slope).

Makes a change from
Their bl**dy dog barking at anything that moves
In our house at night

I had to type that.......dog has started[cries]

BiddyPop · 21/06/2017 22:08

Levitate?! Celebrate

Gah, need sleep

Swatsup · 21/06/2017 22:10

I have so many fans going in my house I don't think I would notice a chain saw or lawnmower!

Newborns don't wake at the noise of a lawnmower....usually just when they are hungry, changing or a cuddle etc! They sleep through noise easily

HunterHearstHelmsley · 21/06/2017 22:16

It's fine. I always used to try to mow mine early evening. Proper ball ache with work. Now the neighbours let their kids running around screaming and shouting until 9, 930 so it's absolutely fine.

DramaAlpaca · 21/06/2017 22:19

It wouldn't bother me. People are making the most of the long, hot days so let them crack on, I say. I'd rather they did it now than first thing in the morning when I am still in bed, that does annoy me.

PoppyTree · 21/06/2017 22:28

I wouldn't even notice it anyway. Like someone above, we have 3 fans in our lounge, and an air con unit too. Absolute Godsend and we don't even care about the extra electric we're using! So the sound of the fans and air con drowns every outside sound out!

LakieLady · 21/06/2017 23:01

I'd have gone out and mowed mine at 9, but it was still too hot.

Now it's too dark!
