To think Facebook is doing nothing to stop right wing extremists.

Some of my family have rather right wing views, nothing illegal or disgusting but on the odd occasion they might share something I find distasteful. Today there was something promoting the posting of militaristic symbols with the comment that it would be taken down soon. I reported this and dug back to the page it had originally come from and found some disgusting anti muslin posts, clearly racist pictures about immigrants and then, going back to the page of a notorious extremist some items which were bad enough in themselves but the comments attached to they were very disturbing. I reported all these to Facebook and two of them have been taken down. All of this nastiness has bee there for at least 3 weeks and nothing has been done, it is far beyond freedom of speech and makes me feel quite sick. Surely given all the horrible things that have happened recently it should not take a middle aged lady who hardly ever looks at facebook and has a day job to get on with to try to clean things up?

I agree more should be done DEFINITELY to tackle any kind of incitement of hatred / violence on Facebook. I'm not on there anymore but when I was I'd see videos of people or animals being abused etc, I was gobsmacked after reporting a few that I had a response stating they "didn't violate Facebooks standards"!
I'm sure there are over 1 billion people on Facebook though, so can only imagine how hard it is for them to police all the accounts.
