To ask what Susanna Reid's role is?

She seems like a sensible enough person. How has it come to be that she's now working on a parody of Fox News co-presenting with that unprofessional non journalist Pierce Morgan?
Is her role to just sit there next to him aiding and abetting his stupidity?
I can't help but think she's taken a wrong turn here. thinks too deeply into it

She's a TV presenter as far as I know. I don't watch TV, but I think that she just followed the money and is doing alright for herself. I hope that she gets equal pay.

She was out of her depth this morning but then again anyone would find it hard pressed to get a word in edgeways with gobby Piers. I hate this Americanised way of interviewing, shock jock, loud statements, asking questions then shouting over the replies, trying to trick people into saying stuff for sound bites and viral hits

Yeah I think PM wants to be like that Bill Riley guy (think that's his name)
Can't bear him.

The same as every other female on a male/female hosted frothy news/magazine-type show. Look decorous, laugh at the crappy jokes of your boorish male co-host (who can be as old and as ugly as he likes), occasionally wear a lowish cut top to get the tabloids in a tizzy, try and delay the ageing process for as long as possible to delay the inevitable day when you get replaced by someone younger and perter.

Seems like a depressing, albeit lucrative, way to earn your money.

My God this place is so annoying at the moment. I'm probably one of the few who actually watches this programme. Susanna Reid acquits herself her well on GMB. She asks sensible questions in a fair manner.
This is just a chance to have a go at Piers Morgan who I saw ripping Tommy Robinson's arguments to shreds today.
They consistently have very high profile political guests and don't let them away with much e.g. Michael Gove.

BoysofMelody · 20/06/2017 11:08

derxa I'm not saying Reid's not a proper journalist. In fact, the fact she's reduced to being Morgan's helpmeet is particularly galling, more a comment on the sexist dynamics in TV 'news'

Scrumpernickel · 20/06/2017 11:12

She should have stuck with Bill on the BBC.

MissionItsPossible · 20/06/2017 11:16

derxa I'm no fan of Tommy Robinson by a long shot but this is what I was alluding to in my post. Piers asked him questions and then shouted over him in a boorish and loud manner. That's not ripping him to shreds or the sign of a good interviewer. From the few times he spoke he put his point across and Piers was too stupid, too arrogant or too loud to realise that they were both making the same points.

Scrumpernickel · 20/06/2017 11:18

Why are they even giving airtime to scum like Tommy Robinson? So Morgan can shout him down and then preen about it?
