Hi, Just wondering those who have sent a new tax credits form off how long have you found it to take? I put a new claim in on 11th May as new job and childcare being paid, my weekly child tax credits have been stopped whilst they process claim for child/working tax credits.
They claim the form was received 12th June and says it will take now up to 3 weeks (3/7/17) has anyone found it to be any quicker? Really struggling :/

You can check whether they've made a decision yet and when they are going to pay you next if you go onto the government website and choose "manage tax credits" you need to set up your online account but it's good for monitoring and for updates.

That's what ive been on this morning but no updates so spoke to an advisor and that is what they've said.
Ive asked for a hardship payment but they have said no as its within their time frame

Sorry I am not clear, was this a change of circumstances or a new claim?

AndNowItIsSeven · 19/06/2017 10:35

Why didn't you just ring with change of circumstances?

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 19/06/2017 11:02

Soryy it was a new joint claim and change of circumstances - I started work and paying childcare and moved in with my partner.
I updated it over the phone 11th May and filled out forms sent to me

Ah I see unfortunately new claims do take a while. Your local council should give you either a hardship payment cash/vouchers or a food bank referral.

Ah great thank you will try that :)
