Another fucking noisy neighbour...

Our next door is currently in his garden playing reggae and singing along loudly. I'm not arguing with there being noise at this time in the morning - if it's after 9am I think it's fair enough, and we live in a terrace so we expect noise. But this is obnoxious!

We have a toddler and as much as we try to be respectful he does end up making a racket sometimes. I'm sure last weekend I heard the neighbour grumbling about "7 o'clock in the fucking morning) so I'm beginning to wonder if he's being a prick on purpose.

WIBU to put some on some loud thrash metal and spray him with the hose? Grin

Get out there and start boogying. . He will likely switch it off if he thinks you are enjoying it!!

ExcuseMyEyebrows · 18/06/2017 10:30

Yes, sing along loudly and out of tune - and make up your own words.

Elledouble · 18/06/2017 10:32

Excuse he's already doing that himself!

I do need to go and mow my lawn though...

Oh I don't know, really.

Round my way this morning we've had kids down the road playing out at 7, last night I was the one playing reggae and singing along (hopefully not loudly or badly) at about 7ish (for less than an hour!)

It's hot, people are making the most of being outside.

I seem to be one of the only people on MN who enjoys living in a busy, noisy street though, so I might be weird!

Weekends in summer here are a riot of kids playing in the cul de sac together until late, BBQs, parties, different music etc.
I think it's great, no one complains because we all make noise, of one type or another.

Helendee · 18/06/2017 10:34

Our neighbours let their kids out to play at 5.45 this morning! Angry

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 18/06/2017 10:36

Ah see I might draw the line at 5.45 though!

Thats too fucking early!

I didn't let him out to play though.....stuck him in front of the TV while mainlining caffeine!

VintagePerfumista · 18/06/2017 10:37

I wouldn't mind any kind of noise (within reason) at 10.30 in the morning! (though hell is other people's kids' noise at any time)

In Helendee's case though I'd be drilling holes in my walls the minute they'd gone to bed. 5.45 is obscene!

Elledouble · 18/06/2017 10:43

Did I forget to say the bit where I said I live in a terraced house in an urban area so I expect noise?! Confused

It's really the music being so loud I can hear it all over my house and the top-of-his-voice singing I object to, but I did ask and if IABU then I'll suck it up.

oh and at least it was reggae and not grime or hardcore punk! Grin

TroysMammy · 18/06/2017 10:45

Put your toddler's music on a loop and join in. One chorus of Wheels on the Bus would have me scuttling indoors.

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 18/06/2017 10:48

Sorry I wasn't having a pop at you!

More at the general MN concensus where if your neighbours can so much as hear a bass note, you are playing it too loud, and where kids playing on trampolines is the most. offensive. thing. ever.

I was expecting someof those to come along soon!

Honestly round here, loud music and singing along are pretty standard things for 10.30 on a Sunday.

I prefer it to the noise my mate has to put up with on a Sunday (lives next doorish to a church- the noise of 100 people and kids all banging car doors, crunching up the gravel etc at the same time!)

WorraLiberty · 18/06/2017 10:59

I seem to be one of the only people on MN who enjoys living in a busy, noisy street though, so I might be weird!

I am also weird that way Blush Grin

Lana "Honestly round here, loud music and singing along are pretty standard things for 10.30 on a Sunday"

Wow. I guess the pro of living in a rough area is you'd get a lot of aggro for doing that.....

What's wrong with keeping noise in your home? Stick your headphones in instead of inflicting your music on everyone else?

IndianaMoleWoman · 18/06/2017 11:10

You could tecord him and play it back really loud through your own speakers at a time of your choosing.

Or crack on with the mowing.

Or just laugh. My neighbour sings really, really loudly, only for about ten minutes just before the taxi arrives when he's going on a night out. It's hilarious!

Oldraver · 18/06/2017 11:14

Put some headphones on and get out a strimmer (the most godawful sound ever)
