Shopping centre is celebrating summer by covering the paving stones with an area of artificial grass and some deckchairs. People are sitting around, on the grass as well as on chairs, chatting, eating sandwiches, ice creams, and takeaway lunches. A woman with a baby in a buggy and an older child walks across the grass. She has a small pugtype dog on a lead walking behind her. Dead centre of the grass the dog pauses and poops. The woman is the focus of dozens of eyes. She produces a doggy bag, picks up the offerings and puts the bag in a litter bin. We all carry on chatting, eating, then hear 'he always poops when he's on grass'!!
Why walk him across the artificial grass where people are sitting and childrenplaying when she could easily have skirted around it?
