I have an interview today for a job I really want. I've been a SAHP for the last 3 years so I'm extra nervous. It's an all day assessment day plus 1:1 interview... top tips??

Treat people as you would like to be treated, remember your pleases and thank yous because you will be observed all day, when you pass a few words with catering staff etc. Just be normal and yourself.

Too late I know but the best interviews I've done have been when I've been really tired. I then have no nervous energy to burn and appear to be calmer and considering my answers.

If you know your stuff my only advice would be be polite and smiley but not bubbly.

Play the game, not the occasion.

You're interviewing them, just as much as they're interviewing you. Are they good enough & worthy of your time??

Try to enjoy it, relax & be respectful and most importantly, be yourself

Good luck

With the assessment day if you are working in a team, don't be the wall flower and speak to as many people as you can/make suggestions. They want to see how you work in a team and get along with other people! Good luck!

Good luck with it. My tip is only accept a drink if you will definitely have time to drink it without causing any awkwardness. You don't want to be carrying a hot cup of coffee round with you.

Good luck, OP. I agree with everything that's already been said. Plus, any opportunity you get, show interest in the company - ask questions, show that you've done your research into the way they do things etc. Oh, and if you're reading this at ten past nine, get off your mobile phone!! Grin

Hope it goes well.
