To wear matching trainers But not really

I have bought trainers for DP for his Father's Day present, he wanted them and showed me online which is just nice and easy.

Problem is a few days later on the same site I've spotted ladies trainers which are very similar, same brand but they are a different material and colour and I love them!

DP says no way, we can't have the same brand and can not leave the house together if we are both wearing them. Seems a bit OTT, who's checking our footwear that closely.

Who is BU? It's him isn't it!?

If they are different colours I don't get how they can look so similar?

Can you link?

I'm imagining eg converse in two colours, which no-one would think twice about

He's being unreasonable. As long as you're not wearing matching outfits! No one will even notice.

If they're a different colour then he is being unreasonable

AlpacaPicnic · 14/06/2017 20:13

Unless they are in a really ostentatious pattern or colour, then I don't think I'd notice!

They are bothAdidas three striped trainers, his white with writing and mine navy suede

There was a couple summers ago that we both had checkered shirts that weren't matching but the same style and if he saw me wearing mine he would have to go and change and he also won't order the same food as me when we are out for a meal

Loads of couples wear converse in different colours. I don't see the problem
