Hi

Not sure if I have posted in the correct place. My 1 year old daughter has been accepted by Baby Model UK.

I have received an email saying application was approved and that they need a £149.00 for administrative costs to cover work searches etc. Or for 1 year £75.00.

AIBU to think this is dodgy? Are they a genuine company? I did find the company name through Mumsnet, just hope I haven't contacted the wrong place. Has anyone had any dealing with them?

If I haven't posted in correct area,
Please advise.

Thanks

I don't think they are legit.

My children modelled and we only paid of the kids had headshots (which they didn't every year) and the agency took £40 out of the first job of the year as their yearly payment- no work, no payment.

Have a look here for reputable agents www.juniormagazine.co.uk/child-modelling/10-of-the-best-child-model-agencies/1645.html I would personally recommend Grace and galor, kids London, Bruce and brown and Urban angels.

Sounds v dodgy to me. I heard as pp said - fees come from a paycheck, not in advance.

CuppaSarah · 14/06/2017 15:31

Baby Model accept literally everyone that applies. While they are legit in that they do get some work come their way. Very VERY few of their models actually get work. But you get some very expensive but lovely photos of your little one.

BitchQueen90 · 14/06/2017 15:35

A lot of these agencies accept every child that applies. You then have to pay a ridiculous sum and then your child's photos get put onto their portfolio. Hardly any of them get any work and when they do you usually have to travel yourself to the locations.

Scam scam scam.
Try Bonnie and Betty, tiny angels, grace and galor, ray and robin, Bryce and brown, urban angels.
There are lots if child model scans around sadly. Done if above legit agencies do charge but get a huge amount of work.

Sorry bruce and Brown not bryce

ConConstance · 14/06/2017 17:36

Thank you for the replies. Them asking for money straight away did send alarm bells ringing. It's not a huge amount of money for the first year but that's 3 months supply of nappies for my little one! I will check out the agencies mentioned above. She's too beautiful to not give it a go!

Vanity modelling. Sounds like a scam.

My 7 month old daughter has been accepted with bruce and brown, and has her first casting on friday, has anyone got any experience with them?

WingingItAllDayLong · 09/11/2018 12:58

Hi all, I wondered if anyone had experience of the below agencies? Have had some interest from them and keen to know if people actually get much work with any of them / how their experiences have been. Thought it might be a bit of fun while on mat leave!

Grace and Galore
Scallywags
Cheeky Monkeys
London baby modelling agency
Baby models UK (think it’s a scam)

Any advice would be greatly welcomed!
Thanks xx

Ps new to mumsnet so be gentle with me!
