To be absolutely infuriated by BT!

My absolutely dreadful BT broadband connection means that I have to call on my crackly BT line to complain that my Broadband is not working. During my call, I am cheerfully invited to either email or visit their website. It absolutely riles me.

Tell me about it. I've had them out six or seven times now to fix a crackle and poor broadband. They are useless. Makes me so angry!

Chickenagain · 13/06/2017 11:15

I've finally put my complaint in writing - while I had the use of the internet. My bill is £67 this month and during that time I have had virtually no TV on demand, no Radio London, no CCTV, no remote access to lights, heating and I am so sick of it.

I've thought about changing to another provider but think they use the same infrastructure so not sure if it would improve things. My phone is unusable today but they insist there is no fault.

CatchIt · 13/06/2017 11:27

BT are useless! Our broadband is so slow that you can't have more than 1 device on the internet and even then, that's only downstairs. Makes it impossible for me to mn at bedtime!

Chickenagain · 13/06/2017 11:36

I want to change too - but as you say - it is the same infrastructure. They have rung me to be fair, I've been to the loft to check the Master Socket and I now have to put a micro-filter on it to try that. I will be more angry if it is that as in that case why have none of the many engineers visiting my loft thought to mention it?

fucking hate BT.

Just so you know though that we swapped to SKY years ago because of BT Line issues and even though they use the same infrastructure we have never again had the issues......never quite worked it out but won't ever go back to BT (and SKY is way cheaper too)

Oh and if you want to swap find someone with SKY and get them to refer you and you will both get some ££ back. Plus don't forget to check Topcashback.

Ok that's me done now Grin

Chickenagain · 13/06/2017 15:17

My mum has Sky, so I might ask her to refer me if they can't sort it out. Seems the phone line is excellent with the filter, but the broadband won't work with it..... it has literally taken years.

I hate BT and swapped to Sky years ago. On the rare occasions we've had problems, they were dealt with swiftly.

NataliaOsipova · 13/06/2017 15:47

Don't get me started on BT.....

Ratonastick · 13/06/2017 15:48

Two things. Firstly, I implore you, do not switch to another provider if you have an infrastructure issue. It just means you have the same problem with BT Openreach, but you have to go through Sky before you get to them. Double the shitstorm nightmare customer service!

Secondly, and more helpfully, the Group CEO of BT is called Gavin Patterson and his email is: [email protected]. There is a department somewhere deep in the inner recesses of BT that resolve problems that get to the CEOs office. Solved a 5 month /12 engineer visit sized problem in two phone calls!

Chickenagain · 13/06/2017 15:59

That is a really useful contact and if this isn't resolved in the next week, I shan't be afraid to use it!

I've been escalated to Level 2 Wink so shall see where this goes.

Good job it's nice on the evenings now - I don't even bother with Netflix anymore as I only get so far before it all goes pffffft flashy flashy ....😢
