My son is with his dad tonight...

I have chores I need to get done. I really need to catch up on sleep as I'm exhausted. But, having literally begged my ex to take him for the night, I now miss him and am feeling a bit sorry for myself, along with a slight giddiness at having my bedroom to myself for the first time in 8 months.

WIBU to get into bed with a cup of tea and a large bar of chocolate and watch re-runs of Come Dine With Me?*

*i'm really looking for some permission to do exactly this instead of getting on with chores or getting an early night like a good girl. Pretty please! Grin

Permission granted!

Decaffstilltastesweird · 12/06/2017 21:25

Oh I like how authoritative I sounded there - I never do irl!

Piratesandpants · 12/06/2017 21:26

Rest, relax and recover. Honestly, look after yourself. The chores will wait or you will manage them somehow.

Redglitter · 12/06/2017 21:26

Go for it Smile

Moanyoldcow · 12/06/2017 21:26

Do it. Right now.

Firewall · 12/06/2017 21:27

Rest and pamper yourself! You deserve it... And will feel so much better for it :) enjoy!

PacificDogwod · 12/06/2017 21:27

OMG, enjoy your alone-time! Brew

Give yourself permission to need to just 'be' sometimes.
You don't need ours Smile

SuperRainbows · 12/06/2017 21:28

Enjoy! The chores will wait.

NoCapes · 12/06/2017 21:29

Oh god lie down woman!

putdownyourphone · 12/06/2017 21:29

Sounds blissful.

justkeepswimmingg · 12/06/2017 21:35

Go for it OP!
Have a chilled evening, and some decent undisturbed sleep. Get your chores done in the morning, before your DS arrives back home. Win win Smile

mumtomaxwell · 12/06/2017 21:36

The chores will still be there tomorrow. The empty bed won't be. Make the most of it!!

Eeeeek2 · 12/06/2017 21:39

Yep you must get the biggest chocolate bar possible and go to bed immediately

Squtternutbosch · 12/06/2017 21:45

YES! I am doing it and it's amazing :).

I have eaten an entire bar of chocolate already. Come dine with me is dreadful and I love it.

Thank you, good people of MN!

Child free time is officially designated for enjoyment and recovery first, and chores only if there's some time leftover.
I know, I wrote the instructions.
It's just true...

You had better be in bed reading this!

sparkleandsunshine · 12/06/2017 21:50

ItsAHardKn0ckLife · 12/06/2017 21:52

It would be a crime not to OP...enjoy Smile

Squtternutbosch · 12/06/2017 22:00

Ps I do love my son with everything I have. I really really do. He's an utter joy! But he's an extremely energetic boy who is currently teething and desperately trying to get around, and I haven't had a night off in 8 months and I really need it!

(But I miss him, and I can't wait to see him in the morning

Fill your boots!

Dawndonnaagain · 12/06/2017 22:00

Dd (20) is having respite care tonight. I'm on the bed, with laptop and netflix list. The whole of the upstairs needs hoovering. Bugger it, it can wait!

2017SoFarSoGood · 12/06/2017 22:04

I think it is mandatory to be honest, so get relaxing!

Italiangreyhound · 12/06/2017 22:09

Go for it.

Rinkydinkypink · 12/06/2017 22:11

No need to explain! We all understand. Lap it up op. It's great to hear your looking after yourself!

LyannaStarktheWolfMaid · 12/06/2017 22:14

Absolutely no jobs! Eat chocolate, watch tv and rest. You'll be doing your son a better service by refreshing yourself then by killing your self with jobs- you sound exhausted!
