To change DD christening venue?

DD is getting christened on 17th June. We were expecting about 50 guests and so booked the church hall. However most of DH family have given rubbish excuses about why they can't come and will now only have about 30 people (20 adults and 10 kids). The church hall is very spacious and I think this many people in such a large space will look silly. We've thought about having everyone back to our house after but if it rains, there'll be no room for everyone inside. Would it be silly to look for an alternative venue??

If there's more space means the kids can run around a bit more. Will you lose your deposit if you change venue?

Could you set up one end of the hall for the children? so table of craft activities, games etc

Does the church have any smaller rooms? We have a few that we hire out, might be worth asking.
