At least DiAb isn't a bumbling fool covering up evil like the honey monster BoJo.

She might not be covering up 'evil' but she's been doing a fair bit of bumbling. I think they should keep her off of media this week, it's not fair to the rest of the party. I don't know what's up with her, and if she's ill she has my sympathies, but she's not helping Labour's cause.

Montsti · 06/06/2017 10:06

I'm no fan of the buffoon, Boris Johnson but he's no fool...he's a very intelligent man, but would be much more suited to life as a nutty professor than an MP...

Diane Abbott on the other hand...I cannot see what she adds to the Labour Party - it's one gaffe after another...it would seriously put me off voting labour as Jeremy Corbyn sticks by her...so what does that say about him??

Bagel88 · 06/06/2017 10:11

The difference is that Boris can actually count, and remember facts, is intelligent, is experienced as Mayor, and generally knows what he is talking about.

MayhemAndRudderless · 06/06/2017 10:13

Rubbish. Senior Tory politicians have been caught out more than once on TV bumbling figures and policies.
Or do you blare that out in your own self-interest?

BabsGanoush · 06/06/2017 10:14

BoJo managed to hold the office of mayor successfully, DiAb on the other hand IS bumbling fool.

makeourfuture · 06/06/2017 10:15

The difference is that Boris can actually count

The difference is that Boris Johnson believes the non-rich are of lesser value.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 06/06/2017 10:16

But she IS a bumbling fool and also a hypocrite.

deeedeee · 06/06/2017 10:23

It beggars belief to me that mumsnet seem to think that personalities are important in this election. if any of them really were totally incompetent they wouldn't be where they are. There are massive teams of people working with them anyway that do all the work and make all the decisions. For pity's sake, have none of you seen the Thick of it at least?

Surely a couple more important things to discuss are

Why people still want to vote for Theresa May when the Police cuts she made as home secretary have contributed to the terror attacks we are experiencing? The Manchester bomber had been reported to police, he was even on telly (Jihadi's next door) but the cuts to policing meant that he slipped through the net. Why do you think the Conservatives are competent still?

Why people still believe Labour are economically incompetent when their costed manifesto has been endorsed by 129 leading economists and Stephen Hawkings and Noam Chomsky?

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 06/06/2017 10:28

I am not a Diane Abbott supporter nor do I like Boris. However, Diane Abbott has now pulled out of interviews due to illness so I think the continued focus on her is questionable.

BoysofMelody · 06/06/2017 10:34

I'm no fan of the buffoon, Boris Johnson but he's no fool...he's a very intelligent man

He really isn't. He's a 100% genuine, copper bottomed, gold plated, weapons grade buffoon with a talent for self promotion and influential friends and relatives.

I really don't know where this belief that his clownish exterior masks hidden intellectual depths, there's precious little evidence for it.

ExplodedCloud · 06/06/2017 10:37

Chaz I agree.

Creatureofthenight · 06/06/2017 11:58

Chaz I had not heard that. I think that's for the best.

Although I am no fan of hers she doesn't seem to be her usual self so I wouldn't be surprised if there is some truth in this.

sleeponeday · 06/06/2017 12:11

Boris Johnson is the Foreign Secretary entrusted to see Brexit through, and to renegotiate the resulting agreements necessary with every other nation we currently trade with. Boris bloody Johnson. He's who we send overseas as our finest and best. With David freaking Davis as EU liaison backup. Just....

Diane Abbott is in her current position because Corbyn was dealing with a huge rebellion due to his previously awful electoral numbers - now he's doing better, he'll have less difficulty getting good people to fill the roles (and no difficulty at all, if they are actually in government). She has zip authority to do anything, and there's no reason to think, after her performance lately, that she'll get any.

Apologies if she's genuinely very unwell and that underlies the issue, though. Mo Molam went through a similar period, from memory, when she was having treatment and people were unaware.

PoohBearsHole · 06/06/2017 12:31

Bois Philandering fool, yet he was a good London Mayor albeit a press whore who ended up looking like a philandering fool.

Diane, where do we start: if she's ill she had a responsibility to her leader to inform him and at first sight of bumbling be pulled from media by the labour party.

if she's an alcoholic, JC should have grilled her post her first random interview and pulled her.
you can't have someone who is severely affected by something (medicinal drugs or alcohol) be in a position of power that can affect the country as a whole, it irresponsible and however much you care for them you need to give them the opportunity to sit back and recover and not just 2 days before the GE! Unfortunately she may well lose Labour the election, and JC as a leader should lead and should have distanced himself publically or banned any publicity. This has put him down in my estimation (probably not worth much 😂). If she's ill she needs to step back and recover well, it makes me feel very sorry for her and i hope she does.

Although i think both TM and JC will scapegoat Boris and Diane as the reasons they lost 🤔. the 'not my fault' attitude!
