Anything else I can take or leave: crisps, cake, biscuits, alcohol. But when I think about going without chocolate, even though I know it's just another food and all ends up as poop, I literally panic. Chocolate feels like a friend that I'm letting down by not eating it, like my life won't be as rich without it, like I'm missing out.
Is it the marketing people who have managed to make us feel this way? I know that it's just food, but my relationship to it is almost like the relationship you have with a bad friend you know you need to ditch but can't! How do I break free?!
