This swarm of bees is outside FILs house (front of house in driveway/pavement). AIBU to hide inside?! Except to take this pic obviously 🙄----

Oh. My. God. That looks so bizarre! I wonder what attracted them there?!

I doubt they will harm you if you stay as far away as possible from them while they go about their "Beesness" (sorry,not sorry) but I have to say I would t like to run that particular gauntlet!

Queen takes a swarm to settle in a new home away from the original hive. They were probably on their way. Hopefully they won't settle in the tree if it's hollow.

Have a Google for a bee keeper. They'd love to take the swarm.

Without wanting to sound like a cliché, you could ring 101. The local police control room will have contact details for one. I had to call them out to a swarm in a high street a few years ago! True story.

If you phone the police non emergency number they have a list of beekeepers and if you contact one of them they will be happy to come and collect a few thousand free bees!

We had a swarm in our street a while back. Thousands of bees filling the air. 101 couldn't understand why we were calling them. Tried a couple of beekeepers, no response. They all settled after a while on NDN's car (i.imgur.com/XFHz9AH.jpg), and then eventually left.

Bees are fine. If you don't bother or go near them. They won't bother or go near you.

Finally got hold of a bee keeper who came and collected them. He said they wouldn't have survived there (if they tried to build a hive) and may have moved on.

Trouble was it was in the driveway so really they had to go otherwise they would be constantly disturbed by the car coming and going!

I saw a bee swarm for the first time in my life a couple of weeks ago. Very impressive!

How did the beekeeper collect them?
