Ha ha ha ha ha.

www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/may/28/amber-rudd-to-stand-in-for-theresa-may-in-televised-leaders-debate

The PM is not capable of turning up on TV and debating policy, but I thought she was so very strong and so very stable??

Seriously?? So she is sending Amber Rudd???

This is madness. JC is looking more Prime Ministerial by the day.

Really. Weird women, both of them. Smile presumably neither cares about the message they are sending out.

allowlsthinkalot · 28/05/2017 21:42

I honestly wonder whether she is reluctant to take part in live debates because she is Type 1 Diabetic. It would be a nightmare to main tain stable blood sugars and therefore cognitive clarity in that situation.

allowlsthinkalot · 28/05/2017 21:43

Don't get me wrong, I can't stand the woman or anything she represents.

msgrinch · 28/05/2017 21:44

Whatever the reasoning if she isn't fit to attend a debate, no matter why, then she isnt fit/healthy enough to run a country.

cannotbelievethistoday · 28/05/2017 21:44

This has got nothing to do with her blood sugar levels!!! It is because she cannot defend the indefensible!

OP posts:
cannotbelievethistoday · 28/05/2017 21:45

This is a home run for Labour surely. All Corbyn has to do is say he is going to turn up and she will look even more like a fool!

JollySmelly · 28/05/2017 21:48

I can't for one moment imagine that her diabetes is an issue in anything and so it shouldn't be.
However - there is definitely something amiss with her thought processes! Amber Rudd is a fucking liability - she can barely string together a coherent sentence.
Strong and stable my arse! Grin

AuldHeathen · 28/05/2017 21:51

She was emphatic that her diabetes is no issue at all. And I'm sure that's true. In her circumstances there is no good reason not to have excellent diabetic control. Nah, she's just a fearty pants. Grin

Oakmaiden · 28/05/2017 21:52

allowIs - I am sure her diabetes can't be the reason. If she cannot maintain "cognitive clarity" in stressful situations, there is no way she is fit (as in healthy enough) to be Prime Minister.

Whistleblower0 · 28/05/2017 21:53

Ha ha. Somebody even dumber than May. Amber Rudd is a fucking idiot. She can barely string a sentance together.
May is a liar, and she's terrified her lies will be exposed under scrutiny.

PaperdollCartoon · 28/05/2017 21:54

AllOwls What an odd thing to say. Do you know any type one diabetics?

PaperdollCartoon · 28/05/2017 21:55

If a debate is enough to make her keel over I'm not sure she could reasonably be Prime Minister anyway!

NettleTea · 28/05/2017 21:56

she's the MP in my next town, Im hoping they kick her to the curb on June 8th, she has been really rude about the place and the people who live there.
There has been some quite interesting graffiti, that has been painted over by the council almost before the paint has dried, and has provoked a local police alert - disgusting that this has been given high priority when our local police are so stretched that they can only attend for really serious crimes.
The graffiti refers to her alleged election expenses fraud and offshore accounts. She isnt even local. strangely only the term 'evict Amber Rudd' was reported on the BBC, the majority are the 'Shame on You' ones

As others have said, diabetes can't be the reason. Diabetics can handle stress as well as anyone else. Or, on the off-chance it is because her blood sugar isn't controlled, she shouldn't be running the country.

Go Corbyn!

puglife15 · 28/05/2017 21:58

Is it because she wants to act like the debates are "beneath" her?! And she's so convinced she will win regardless that it doesn't matter anyway? What arrogance.

I'd love to know what Conservative voters think of this.

Whistleblower0 · 28/05/2017 21:59

C'mon JezzaSmile

cannotbelievethistoday · 28/05/2017 22:01

I want to know what conservatives think as well. Do they think this is a good idea? Are they not embarrassed of their leader?

OP posts:
noblegiraffe · 28/05/2017 22:04

If her diabetes means she can't handle a debate, then that hardly bodes well for Brexit negotiations Confused

PhoenixJasmine · 28/05/2017 22:07

I'm genuinely wondering if she's not well, she must be under an absolute shit ton of pressure, I'm worried for her mental health.

JollySmelly · 28/05/2017 22:07

But who says her condition means that noble? I can't bloody stand the woman but I don't think it's fair to cast aspersions on her diabetes. Call her out for being an arrogant out of touch schoolma'am wannabe dominatrix but not for a condition that she can't help!

LineRunner · 28/05/2017 22:08

When's it on? Sounds like my kind of car crash.

cannotbelievethistoday · 28/05/2017 22:09

Wednesday. 7.30 to 9pm

OP posts:
Whistleblower0 · 28/05/2017 22:10

Rudd's gonna be fun to watch. I can't waitGrin

PhoenixJasmine · 28/05/2017 22:12

What decent reasons can she have for not attending?

  • she is worried she won't come off well
  • she thinks she doesn't need to as she's going to win anyway

I also feel it's one thing to boycott the debate entirely, but sending a deputy? Isn't that just saying you're not up to it?

puglife15 · 28/05/2017 22:12

May has never wanted to partake in a debate though. If she can't handle the stress of a bit of telly how the hell can she run the country effectively with all the difficult decision making that entails? Amateur.
