I was getting pretty annoyed reading comments on this video.
I am interested to see what the mumsnet thinks about this?

AIBU to think these kids should have just moved on like they were asked?

Unfortunately, many teens are absolute scum

Many people of all ages and jobs are scum.

Boomcack · 28/05/2017 18:32

Just a thought but sometimes people have an issue with police because of mistreatment and racism. Annoying when other peoples experiences are ignored because it doesn't go with the narrative

BTG3385 · 28/05/2017 18:38

I'm all for the police handing out hidings. Too soft nowadays.

IvorHughJarrs · 28/05/2017 18:39

Over recent years we have allowed the ideas of being clever, hard-working or law-abiding to be ridiculed in the media and being non-academic and a bit of a rogue to be glorified. Couple that with parents thinking the world revolves around them and their little darlings and things start to break down

MyFavouriteName · 28/05/2017 18:42

Boomcack the teens were racist in this situation and broke someone's jaw. That's how it started. So not really relevant here.

BillSykesDog · 28/05/2017 18:44

In this case it wasn't the police that were racist though was it?

Bellabooboo · 28/05/2017 18:55

No it wasn't. In fact the teens were with someone who had broken someone's jaw and it was part of a racist attack.

Boomcack · 28/05/2017 19:11

If you actually read my comment Hmm you will see it was in response to some peoples apathy towards the police based on mistreatment and racism. Reading is fundamental, do carry on with your bun fight Wink

Bellabooboo · 28/05/2017 19:17

Oh dear! Chill out boomcack! All we were pointing out was that it was not the case in this situation.

Jupitar · 28/05/2017 19:20

I watched this earlier and thought the first backup police officer could of handled it a lot better, once he started pushing the teenagers around he made it impossible for the other backups to diffuse the situation.

Now hearing what the handcuffed teenager had done and that the others were possibly involved makes it more understandable.

Just hope the kids actually involved in the attack get charged.

Boomcack · 28/05/2017 19:45

Bellabooboo you misquoted me, I simply corrected you. Looks like you need to calm down and learn how read read comments properly before sending rude comments

BillSykesDog · 28/05/2017 23:54

Boomcack that was about as clear as mud. Besides, when everybody on a thread appears to be misunderstanding you, it might be time to consider that it's your prose at fault, not other people's comprehension.

Italiangreyhound · 29/05/2017 01:55

Just hope the little buggers who were arrested get a proper punishment. If they are told to go home by officers they should do so.

Teenagers challenging the police is shocking. They deserve to be arrested if they are contributing to a violent and racist attack and getting in the police's way.
