to be upset with interfering old bids teasing my screaming baby

DD (11 months) basically screams everytime we go out - today we went to the market. As soon as we arrived someone looked at her so she starting screaming, I had DD2 (2.7) on the buggy board so no option to pick her up. Everywhere we went we were followed by comments - starting with 'she's got a good pair of lungs' to 'poor little thing she must be hungry/tired - pick her up' (she had just eaten and had a sleep) - then became down right surreal with old men poking her and suggesting we stick a sausage in her mouth to shut her up. We literally went to one stall before heading home as I was so upset. Have they never seen a child cry before? I love both my girls and cuddle them and look after them as best I can but today I needed to go out and I couldn't pick her up.

One nice old lady stall holder came over and out her arms round me and gave me sympathy and after all the other comments it made me cry.

It's very personal what you like/hate, isn't it? I always quite liked the 'She's got a good pair of lungs' comments, but a stranger putting their arms round me.... now that I would have hated
