For my birthday

Not even wrapped up

From my MOTHER!

All brand new with tags though - I suppose that's something

I can't be alone in thinking that at 33, the only people buying my pants should be me or DH (and I wouldn't trust him that far...)

Not in the slightest!!! cringing at the thought of the undies my my mum buy

PinkTulips · 16/03/2007 17:43

pmsl.... at least you got a pressie... it's my 23rd on sunday and i got a cheap pound shop card in the post today, no present at all!

can you return them?!

Scootergirl · 16/03/2007 17:47

We're in Germany and they are clearly from Peacocks (not that there's anything wrong with Peacocks but still!)
Am going to have to hide them before DH spots them and gets his hopes up - they look like proper hooker pants! And they'll probably give me electric shocks...

pmsl at hooker pants... i was imagining beige granny pants for some reason!

Scootergirl · 16/03/2007 18:04

Oh no, it's worse than that. DH will like the pants and try to persuade me to wear them for.. you know... and halfway through I'll get a little voice in my head going "your mother bought your pants, your mother bought your pants"
Maybe she's after another grandchild

Have you thought of returning them to the shop and getting something else? You could then write to your mother, thank her for the thought but let on that you didn't like them and have exchanged for xyz.

chocolateface · 17/03/2007 14:55

My mother did this to me once, although it wasn't for my birthday. They were a sort of hideous satin from a well known, but unglamerous dept' store. They went straight to the charity shop. The worst birthday present was a glass chopping board.

beansprout · 17/03/2007 14:57

I got a pair of tights for my 19th birthday, but that really is one up from pants!

tinkerbellhadpiles · 17/03/2007 15:06

My ex-husband bought me a beige thermal vest for valentines day (note the ex- bit)

mustrunmore · 17/03/2007 15:15

I got a bar of coal tar soap for xmas from dh And a notebook.

shimmy21 · 17/03/2007 15:38

I asked my dh to get me some pretty underwear one christmas. He bought me 15 pairs of big black pants (3 packs of 5 from M n S).

My mum actually bought me some really pretty undies to help me feel myself again after ds was born.

mum-bought knickers can be better than dh-bought!

expatinscotland · 17/03/2007 15:44

I'd throw them in the bin, tbh.

PinkTulips · 18/03/2007 09:16

when i was 15 my mom had gone to london a few weeks before xmas so 'santa' gave me a box of expensive thongs that year

dp is afraid to buy me undies so have yet to find out how disasterous his taste could be

Fillyjonk · 18/03/2007 09:40

eeew

my mum does occasionally buy me undies but NICE comfy appropriate mum-bought ones-M&S and sloggi. For which I am hugely appreciative, else it would be primark all the way.

Scootergirl · 18/03/2007 18:11

It's getting worse - my SIL who's an Avon lady gave me.... some Avon stuff.
I'm just going to send her a box of biros and notepads (that I get free at work) on her birthday

Didn't know you could still buy nylon clothes!! But every time I see the title of this thread I'm chortling out loud. We know someone (whom I dislike, hehe!) who's been suspected of sexual misconduct. He sent round an email denying it and added at the end that 'Nor is there any truth in the rumour that I've been buying used underwear from ladies.'!!! Rofl.

Scootergirl · 20/03/2007 17:11

Do you think he wants to buy my pants? They're not worn but they are pretty horrid...
